The Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec
The Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec (FPLQ), which is affiliated with the Union des producteurs agricoles, is a federation of 14 regional syndicates that represents the 13,000 milk producers of some 6,300 dairy farms across the province. The Federation's mission is to:
- create living conditions and revenues for all milk producers that are comparable to those in society as a whole;
- ensure that these equitable living conditions and revenues continue to be the result of effective market mechanisms and not an excessive dependency on public funding;
- maintain a production structure that is managed by owner operators.
